Ever since I started hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains about 10 years ago, I’ve been obsessed with all of the crazy and unique flora and fauna I’ve encountered.  Monkey Flowers were one of the first flowers that I noticed along the trail that I had not seen anywhere else before.  Their funny name always made me remember them well and I wanted to pay tribute to this beautiful natural environment.
